The Resiliency & Justice Center serves as a multi-agency resource and referral hub serving victims of crime throughout Nevada. Available services include victim advocacy and support, case management, counseling and spiritual care referrals, technical assistance with applying for services including FBI Victim Assistance services, and more. The lawyers help clients with civil legal services for issues involving insurance matters, medical billing problems, debt collection, housing and evictions, family law matters, and other issues. Resiliency & Justice Center’s law clerks work closely with the attorneys, staff, and clients. Tenant's Rights Attorney
The Consumer Rights Project at Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is seeking a full-time attorney to handle eviction cases. The recent increases in rent have created unparalleled hardship for so many in our valley, and this attorney will be on the front lines in helping tenants apply for rental assistance, file responses to evictions, and represent the client in court. The attorney will also work with the community’s eviction diversion programs, in partnership with other community stakeholders. The attorney will be joining a hard-working team who combat unscrupulous landlords while working with reasonable landlords who are seeking fair solutions.
The ideal candidate is committed to public interest law and community service and has the desire to work with and zealously advocate for our clients. While some litigation experience is helpful, no prior experience is necessary as Legal Aid Center provides extensive training. The ability to speak Spanish is always beneficial. The candidate must be a licensed attorney in good standing from any United States jurisdiction (Nevada offers special licensing for attorneys relocating to Nevada to provide legal services through Legal Aid Center.)

The Statewide Advocacy, Outreach and Policy Director for the Nevada Coalition of Legal Service Providers seeks a law clerk for the upcoming term. The Coalition of Legal Service Providers members are recognized as institutional legal services providers; the Coalition is comprised of: Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, Nevada Legal Services, Southern Nevada Senior Law Program, Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevada, and Washoe Legal Services. Though independent entities, the Coalition members collaborate to address civil legal needs across the state and to devise plans for addressing other civil legal delivery issues.
Access to justice is a fundamental principle in a democratic society. The need for statewide strategic planning and coordination of efforts to expand services and improve access to justice is critical to the many Nevadans in need of legal assistance and to Nevadans at large to ensure that equal justice under the law is a balanced standard among all citizenry. The Nevada Coalition of Legal Service Providers strive to evaluate and address civil legal needs across the state, create access to justice programs and fortify existing access to justice opportunities for all.
A Law Clerk for the Statewide Advocacy, Outreach, and Policy Director will work on assignments that vary in subject and scale. This clerkship provides first-hand experience with the work that shapes the law in Nevada. The Law Clerk would be tasked with lobbying and researching assistance.

Law Clerk - Family Law Self-Help Center
The Family Law Self-Help Center is a stimulating, high-energy environment where walk-in customers, often with urgent issues, can request legal information regardless of their income, assets, or citizenship.
Located in the Family Courthouse, the Family Law Self-Help Center is a legal “emergency room” for self-represented litigants navigating the court system. The center provides legal information and court forms to walk-in customers who need guidance in filing or managing their family court case. The clerk will gain vast experience in issue spotting, applying the rules of civil procedure, interviewing and communicating court processes with individuals, and analyzing a variety of documents, all under the supervision of a directing attorney. Common issues addressed at the self-help center include divorce, custody, guardianship, name changes, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Applicants who have completed their first year of law school and taught a family law community education class will be given preference. Students will be trained in the relevant areas of law. The immediate assistance the student will provide to the public has the potential to significantly affect the lives of individuals unfamiliar with the court system. The Immigration Advocacy Project provides a range of representation to victims of domestic violence, violent crime and human trafficking. The unit also provides representation to individuals in need of humanitarian aid such as asylum seekers and unaccompanied minor children. We help battered immigrants self-petition the government to remain lawfully in the United States and obtain lawful immigration status.
The immigration law clerk will be responsible for preparing forms, research & drafting motions, petitions, employment authorization requests and reviewing documents, declarations and analyzing supporting documents. Guardianship Advocate
Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, a non-profit, public interest law firm, is seeking a full-time Guardianship Advocate. The Advocate will work directly with the Guardianship Attorneys and their clients who are seniors and individuals with disabilities under guardianship. The Guardianship Advocate will visit the clients in group homes, schools, medical facilities, hospitals, adult day care facilities, job sites, and personal homes. During these visits, the Advocate will discuss housing conditions, safety issues, and physical and medical issues with the clients and housing staff, medical staff, caregivers, family members, and others involved in the clients’ care.
The Guardianship Advocate must be highly organized and must be able to work independently. The Liaison will be responsible for managing visitation schedules, calendaring follow-up visits, and maintaining a client database. The Advocate will also be responsible for preparing and providing written reports directly to the attorneys. Excellent communication and interaction skills are necessary.
