The Consumer Rights Project of Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is looking for a law clerk who has a passion for working hands-on with clients and gaining interviewing skills. The clerk will work with the lead attorney and paralegals to analyze issues that arise on a daily basis. The intake clerk will screen low income clients for eligibility for legal aid services, provide legal information to clients under the supervision of a lawyer, research consumer fraud issues, and may prepare legal documents.
The clerk will gain vast experience in issue spotting, interviewing potential clients, communicating legal information to non-lawyers, communicating the client’s story to staff attorneys, and analyzing documents, all under the supervision of a directing attorney.
The position requires a law student who is out-going, empathetic, quick thinking, and is a team player. The ideal candidate is able to understand the lives and struggles confronting low-income and vulnerable people in our community and enjoys providing legal information to individuals who may need extra patience to understand their legal issue.
