Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, a nonprofit public interest law firm, is seeking a full time bookkeeper. This position reports to the Chief Financial Director.  Prefer three or more years of bookkeeping experience, including working knowledge of accrual based accounting, invoicing & receivables, accounts payable, payroll, year-end journal entries and electronic based accounting software. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with excellent verbal and written communication skills, prefer individuals with experience working with non-profit organizations, grant management or fund accounting.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Accounts Payable and weekly completion of the check run. 
  • Reconcile credit card charges ensuring they are charged to the correct programs and accounts. 
  • Compile monthly grant drawdown support.
  • Prepare and maintain files as needed within the department. 
  • Prepare correspondence as needed within the department regarding vendor or financial institution matters. 
  • Assist with annual audit preparation, inclusive of grant program audits as necessary.
  • Assist with monthly account reconciliations.
  • Manage petty cash account. 
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required.
