The Legal Service Fund Program (LSF) is a partnership between Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and the Culinary Union Local 226 and the Bartenders Union Local 165.  The LSF team assists and represents Union members with a variety of legal issues.  This includes estate planning, immigration, criminal record sealing, unemployment compensation, and housing and consumer problems.  Nevada has the largest culinary union in the country with over 60,000 members.  The hospitality industry is the backbone of the state’s economy and the people that work in these positions keep it running.  The Legal Service Fund is dedicated to protecting the legal rights of these workers and in turn ensure that the Las Vegas community remains healthy, stable, and well established.  The Legal Service Fund Program is looking for law clerks who have a passion for justice, fairness, and protecting the rights of Nevada’s working families. Our law clerks work closely with attorneys and clients – they prepare pleadings and research memos, interview clients and present cases at case review, attend hearings if schedules permit, learn how to evaluate cases, and get hands-on experience helping people enforce their legal rights.  The time commitment is a minimum of 15 hours per week under public interest grants if applicable, or at the pay rate of $18.00 per hour.  Please note that this is an in person position.
